Project: The HCM Platform  |  Phase: User Research

The following persona and journey map were developed to ensure the HCM platform design remains user-centric and addresses the specific problems identified in the project brief.

1. User Personas

Persona 1: The Modern Employee (Rohan)

Role Senior Software Engineer (Age: 29)
Goals Quick access to pay slips; easy leave application; minimal interaction with clunky legacy forms.
Pain Points Current system is not mobile-friendly; manual follow-ups required for simple approvals.

2. User Journey Map: Applying for Sick Leave

This map tracks Rohan's journey using the HCM app to complete a core task: Applying for sick leave with minimal friction.

Stage Discovery Action Outcome
Scenario Rohan feels unwell; remembers the new HCM mobile app. Opens app → login via SSO → Clicks "Sick Leave" → Uploads medical certificate. Manager receives an instant notification; Rohan feels relieved knowing his absence is recorded without a long email thread.
